Mitigating Pipeline Impacts & Geohazards
Tackling the Unpredictable
Over the past 15 years, there have been about 850 pipeline leaks and ruptures in Alberta caused by impacts and geohazards, representing about 10% of total incidents. Landslides, vandalism, and accidental third-party strikes are almost entirely unpredictable in advance, leaving operators will little recourse to mitigate these low-probability, high-impact events.
At least, that was the case until TCI brought its Envirolock systems to market. Built using extremely tough and versatile materials, Envirolock resisted the penetrating force of an excavator bucket during a static crush test to such a degree that it partially lifted the front of the excavator off the ground. This ground-breaking (but not pipe-breaking!) protection is engineered into the ECS and to a lesser degree the EPRS and ECA configurations of Envirolock, Moreover, this protection can be cost-effectively applied to ANY length of new or existing pipeline thanks to our one-of-a-kind innovative in-situ installation process. If you want to make your pipeline operations safer and more competitive, we invite you to contact us today to learn more about how Envirolock can help.
