Mitigating Pipeline Defects & Degradation
Envirolock: Insurance Against the Unknown

Pipeline operators work hard every day to prevent incidents like this from occurring. In some cases, risk can be predictively modeled and other threats can be identified in advance, leading to code repairs and other remedial interventions. In other cases however, problems can originate from unknown material defects and installation errors. These threats can go unnoticed for years, living in operational blind spots where detection is impossible, or manifesting in data anomalies that seem innocuous because the larger context is missing. How can operators mitigate the unknown and the unknowable?
TCI's Envirolock is the "insurance policy" that operators need to guard against these silent forms of damage. This is because NO human, mechanical, or computer interventions are needed to enact its protections. Instead, its protections are inherent in its design and material properties. For Envirolock, pipeline integrity is no longer contingent on detection, it precedes it.
In its reinforcement configuration (EPRS), Envirolock drastically improves the integrity of the pipeline by restoring its full strength. In its containment configuration (ECS), it both prevents incidents and then captures releases it cannot prevent. ECS can even contain explosive ruptures up to ~4600 psig, thereby eliminating emergencies that could lead to fatalities, injuries, evacuations, contamination, or fires in sensitive areas. Relative to other mitigation strategies, Envirolock costs less and is more comprehensive - providing not only protection against defect failures, but also corrosion and third-party strikes as well. And thanks to our one-of-a-kind in-situ installation process, we can apply this robust protection along virtually ANY length of new or existing pipe. In short, Envirolock's unique combination of robustness and versality makes it the indispensable "Swiss army knife" of pipeline integrity solutions.
