Envirolock Validation

Putting Envirolock to the Test

THIRD-PARTY SUPPORT & INUDSTRY CERTIFICATIONS: We understand that your pipeline assets are critical to delivering great customer service, so you need the very best in reliablity and performance. Right from the start, TCI embraced this responsibility to produce a product you can count on. Over the years, we have consulted with a variety of third-parties to support and peer-review our research process, including:

  • National Sanitation Foundation - TCI engaged NSF in Fall 2023 to provide third-party NSF-61 certification for Envirolock to ensure its safe and effective use on potable water and wastewater systems throughout North America.
  • American Society of Mechnical Engineers - TCI is excited to be working with Stress Engineering to conduct the performance testing required for Envirolock to achieve ASME's PCC-2 standards for Repair of Pressure Equipment and Piping.
  • Pipeline Research Council International - In February of 2023, TCI commissioned PRCI to conduct the first public demonstration of our technology on a low pressure loop located within their Houston testing facility. The system was installed on a single 10’ spool that was placed within a 12” loop operating at 150 Psi. The middle of the spool had a defect (3/8” hole). Envirolock was completely successful in capturing and holding the released material (water) at the 150 Psi operating pressure. Approximately six months later, we received word from the facility manager that the defect we put in the spool inside our system was detected, but our technology was not. This further demonstrated Envirolock's compatability with the use of two separate inline inspection tools and that it can contain pressure for an extended period of time.
  • C-FER Technologies - to verify the results of our own lab testing and to expand our testing capabilities
  • Corpro Canada - to develop our system in a way that is compatible with cathodic protection.
  • Hingeneering Consulting - to provide FEA analysis for our designs.
  • TCI is proud to hold memberships in multiple trade associations such as Energy Connections Canada, the Alberta Water & Wastewater Operators Association, and the Alberta IoT.

INNOVATIVE: Many companies claim that their products bring something new to the market, but TCI holds the patents to prove that Envirolock is truly cutting-edge. Our first patent was issued in 2021 and more are in the pipeline!

MARKET SUPPORTED: TCI has received positive feedback from across the industry as we have met with prospective customers and presented at conferences. We especially appreciate the support from those within indigeneous communities who have been stewards of the land for generations.

"Moving forward, it is the Indian Resource Council's intent to explore partnerships opportunities in Total Containment Inc. and the Envirolock System. The IRC agrees that more must be done to protect the environment from the impact of pipeline spills and leaks, especially in "High Consequence Areas" and the Envirolock System is the best means of ensuring the environment is protected."

~Stephen Buffalo, Indian Resource Council President/CEO

"The method in which [this system [Envirolock] is employed has the potential to be an additional layer of protection in high-risk environmentally sensitive areas. ...Steel River Group, as a construction management entity, would support the implementation of this technology as part of the overall construction process."

~Kelsy Kading, Steel River Group Senior Vice President
